Game development studio STUDIO909 has released a Steam demo for the mystery adventure game *Quiet Express Cabin 909*.
Vehicle-building and loop-based puzzles inspired by *Blue Prince* and *Road 96*
The release of this demo was announced during “The MIX Fall Showcase 2026,” an indie game news program. A new trailer was also released, and an official Discord server has been launched to share walkthroughs and update information.

The game is a rail-travel adventure set aboard the “Quiet Express,” a transcontinental train journey that takes seven days to reach the west coast of the continent. It was developed under the influence of the puzzle adventure *Blue Prince* and the road trip adventure *Road 96*.Players wake up in the last passenger car of the train and head toward the front car in search of “Room 909,” a place unknown even to the conductor, let alone the other passengers.

Central to the exploration is a system that allows the player to change the train’s configuration based on their own choices. When standing in front of the door leading to the next car, the player is presented with three randomly selected options—such as passenger cars, dining cars, a botanical garden, or freight cars—and can decide which car to connect to.You can also use the “Reroll” feature to explore the train and reshuffle your options, or obtain items that add a fourth candidate. By rearranging the order of the cars, you’ll uncover new routes to solve the train’s mysteries, such as heavily locked doors, unresponsive switches, and secret attics.

Along the journey, a diverse array of passengers boards the train at each station. In the world of this game, an era of prolonged conflict and discrimination has ended, and races such as beastmen, giants, and homunculi now coexist. However, each passenger carries their own burdens—whether it’s the hardships of living as a member of their race or deep regrets from the past.As you engage in conversation, fulfill their requests, and unravel the stories of their lives, you’ll gradually piece together the mystery of “Room 909.”

Furthermore, on the seventh day—just before the Quiet Express is set to arrive at its final destination—a tragic derailment occurs in which the train catches fire, claiming the lives of every passenger and crew member.Players who die will have time rewound to Day 1, just after departing the starting station, and will repeat the seven-day journey over and over. The newly released demo has an estimated playtime of about 30 minutes and offers multiple ways to prevent the derailment accident that occurs on Day 7.

As previously announced, the game’s direction and scenario are handled by indie game developer Kazuhide Oka, known for titles such as *Natsu no Kanata* and *Girls Maid Pudding*.The development studio, STUDIO909, has been selected for both the second and third phases of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s “Sōfū” creator support program. Game*Spark has previously published articles covering the game’s official announcement and the confirmation of its 2027 release date, so please be sure to check those out as well.
*Quiet Express Room 909* is scheduled for release on PC (Steam) in 2027. The price has not yet been determined. A demo is currently available on Steam.
