During the “Wakuwaku Games Newsletter: October 2026 Live Stream Special,” which aired on October 16, 2026, at 9:00 PM, details were revealed about the upcoming update for the single-player 2.5D FPS *Final Recovery SQUAD*, developed by Sanfish Kuma.

*Final Recovery SQUAD* is set on a near-future Earth invaded by aliens, where 12-meter-tall girl-type units called “Kogrina Units” take on the invading forces.Released on June 18, 2026, for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch, the game has received high ratings in Steam user reviews.
The update, scheduled for release in November, will add new “Free Play Mode” and “Arcade Mode” to the game. In these new modes, players can embark on missions from the main story and EX missions with equipment conditions that aren’t available in the standard Story Mode. New equipment designed specifically for these modes will also be available.
There will also be “Another Missions” depicting events before and after the main story!
Furthermore, the “Another Missions” prepared specifically for both modes feature missions that serve as prequels and sequels to the main story.The prequel depicts an interception operation involving a large force of Kogrina units set immediately after the alien invasion. In this mission, you’ll fight alongside NPC Kogrina units against a massive formation of enemy weapons commanded by a spaceship.
In the epilogue, a unit of Kogrina survivors from the final battle of the main story embarks on “the final mission entrusted to humanity.”
