Brocap Studio has released the sheepdog adventure game *Hubert* for PC (Steam).

An adventure game featuring a dog who speaks his mind

This third-person adventure game puts you in the role of a sheepdog tasked with protecting your flock and the one human who believes in you. Players take on the role of Hubert, a fluffy, self-assured sheepdog with a talent for sniffing out trouble, and experience the world through movement, scent, instinct, and curiosity.

By Hubert’s side is Lily, a resourceful young girl who convinced the valley’s grumpiest farmer to hire her.Their mission is to guide dozens of “slightly chaotic” sheep to the pasture. However, the sheep have the attention span of goldfish, and the farmer’s patience is nonexistent. A life of shepherding that doesn’t go as planned awaits them.

The story eventually expands beyond the farm into the untamed northern wilderness. The land grows quieter and stranger, and Hubert begins to hear a “call” he cannot fully explain. It seems to be more than just a threat.

This title won the Best Game award by audience vote at the Game Access Conference 2026, held in the Czech Republic in May 2026. With over 80,000 wishlist entries on Steam, it had already garnered significant attention even before its release.

Key Features

  • That Dog

    • Meet Hubert: fluffy, self-assured, and gifted with a talent for sniffing out trouble. He perceives the world through movement, scent, instinct, and curiosity.

    • Players experience the journey from Hubert’s perspective as a working dog learning to find his place in a quiet world. However, it gradually becomes clear that this world is a far more unpredictable place than it appears.

  • Bonds

    • Hubert isn’t alone. By his side is Lily, a quick-witted child who has just convinced the valley’s most difficult farmer to give her a job.

    • Their bond deepens through daily routines, small moments, and quiet trust.

    • As the world around them changes, that bond is subtly tested, shaping Hubert’s perspective and his reasons for carrying on.

  • The Flock

    • Their task is to lead dozens of somewhat chaotic sheep to the pasture. Sounds easy, right?

    • But it’s a different story when the sheep have the attention span of goldfish and the farmer has zero patience.

    • Shepherding with Love (and a Good Coat): Commander Hubert leads an army of sheep.

    • A Tale of Barking and Failures: Navigate farm life, forge unexpected friendships, and do your best not to upset the farmer (or at least stay out of earshot of his yelling).

  • The Wilderness

    • Beyond the fence, the land grows quieter and stranger.

    • Is there something in the forest? Something is there. It’s not just a threat, but a “call” that Hubert can sense in ways he can’t quite explain.

    • Picturesque Charm: Explore the countryside—a place that appears warm and inviting on the surface, yet hides anxiety, mystery, and moments that occasionally make you want to howl at the moon.

“Hubert” is now available for PC (Steam). It’s priced at 2,800 yen, but until October 29, you can purchase it for 2,520 yen—a 10% discount. A demo is also available on Steam.

A PS5 version is also scheduled for release at a later date.
