The BitSummit Organizing Committee has begun accepting entries for the “BitSummit Official Indie Selection” for general exhibitors at the “BitSummit” indie game event, which will be held at the Kyoto City Industrial Promotion Hall (Miyako Messe) from May 21 to 23, 2027.
The 15th edition will run for three days, starting with a Business Day on May 21
At the 2027 BitSummit, May 21 will be a Business Day for industry professionals such as developers, publishers, media, and sponsors, while May 22 and 23 will be open to the general public.
BitSummit was launched in late 2012 with the aim of “promoting interesting Japanese indie games to the international market.” While the inaugural event in 2013 was a trade-only gathering with about 200 attendees, it has since grown to attract over 68,000 visitors by 2026.The event will mark its 15th anniversary in 2027.
While “BitSummit the 13th,” held in 2025, drew over 58,000 attendees, the 2026 event is set to be even larger.
The entry deadline is January 31, 2027, at 4:00 PM
Entries are accepted through the dedicated application system, and the deadline is January 31, 2027, at 4:00 PM. The entry fee is 2,750 yen per title, which covers the cost of reviewing the submitted titles. Refunds will not be issued regardless of the review results.
If your entry passes the screening, an exhibition fee of 33,000 yen per booth will apply. A student discount is available for the exhibition fee; according to the entry overview page, if the representative at the time of entry is a student, the exhibition fee is 11,000 yen per booth.
Screening results are scheduled to be notified via email around mid- to late March 2027.
BitSummit 2027 is scheduled to take place from May 21 to 23 at the Kyoto City Industrial Promotion Hall (Miyako Messe). The first day is Business Day.
