Meetkow is currently offering a demo version of the psychological horror game *The Unworthy*.
A psychological horror game that aims to “truly scare people”
This psychological horror game is currently in development with the goal of “truly scaring people.” The story, inspired by the testimony of a man who claims to have stepped into hell during a near-death experience, is told from a first-person perspective.

Players awaken in the limbo between life and hell. Escape from whatever lurks in the darkness—which threatens to trap you in this cursed world—and prove that you are worthy of survival.

Depending on the threat, you’ll need to adopt different strategies—some require you to stay still, others to remain silent, and still others demand that you confront them head-on. Certain events and encounters are said to occur randomly. The game will also feature a “Liminal Mode,” which removes enemies and jump scares, allowing you to focus solely on the terror created by the eerie atmosphere and sound design.

A demo for this title has been available on Steam since August 2026. On October 8, a major update for the demo was released, featuring a visual overhaul, the addition of new areas, and improvements to enemy AI. The demo has received a “Very Positive” rating, with 91% of 204 reviews recommending it.
Additionally, X reported that the demo received negative reviews calling it “too scary.” The development team commented that this might actually be the highest compliment a horror game can receive.

Scheduled for release in late spring 2027
*The Unworthy* is scheduled for release on Steam in the latter half of spring 2027. According to the store page, the game will support Japanese.
