During the “Triple-i Initiative Showcase,” which aired on October 9 at 1:00 a.m., Curve Games unveiled the first demo for *Wyldheart*, developed by Wayfinder Studios, and released it on Steam.
The Adventures of Peasants Who Are Not “The Chosen Ones”
This game is a co-op-enabled action RPG set in a rustic fantasy world.
Inspired by tabletop RPGs, players take on the role of ordinary farmers who are thrown into a dungeon. They are tasked with finding ancient artifacts to protect their town. Together with their companions, they’ll travel freely through a ruined kingdom as a nameless party, weaving their own story—one that has yet to be told.
This demo version reportedly includes a standalone, one-shot adventure designed to give players a taste of the full game’s campaign (the game’s store page also highlights its “bite-sized” nature). Whether playing solo or with up to three friends, you can enjoy several hours of sword-and-sorcery adventure.
Multiplayer supports seamless joining and leaving, so friends can jump in whenever they’re free, and if their schedules don’t align, you can continue solo.

During character creation, you can craft your own unique hero from four races—the proud Freefolk, the small and often underestimated Mosslings, the towering Grimhorns, and the stocky Stonefolk—along with 19 story backgrounds and hundreds of customization options.

Your adventure begins in “The Slurper’s Den,” a mushroom-themed dungeon. You’ll battle mushroom enemies that leap out of the darkness with a grin on their faces, dodge neon-green flames, and explore a dimly lit cave illuminated only by bioluminescence.
Beyond the dungeon lies the “Whisperwoods” region. In addition to three additional dungeons, you’ll find villages where villagers share rumors, random encounters and ambushes along the way, and encounters with travelers passing along the roads.
Combat is fast-paced action that combines weapons—such as swords, axes, clubs, spears, and bows—with magic. The game features a classless skill system, allowing players to freely combine skill trees that wouldn’t typically be paired in standard RPGs. The available magic is divided into four schools: “Blight,” “Pyre,” “Rime,” and “Storm.”
Developed by a 12-person indie team led by former *Battlefront* directors
The developer, Wayfinder Studios, is a small indie team of 12 based in Sweden. It was founded by the former creative director of *STAR WARS Battlefront*, and also includes a studio director and technical director who worked on *Battlefield* and *THE FINALS*.
By combining experience in AAA development with the creativity unique to a small team, they aim to bring the cozy charm of tabletop RPGs to a vast fantasy RPG.
The game was announced in March 2026 and launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. In May, the achievement of stretch goals secured localization—including Japanese—and the number of Steam wishlist entries had reached 250,000 at that time.Curve Games, known for publishing titles such as the “For The King” series and “Human: Fall Flat,” has now joined as a publisher.
"Wyldheart" is scheduled to launch in Early Access for PC (Steam/Epic Games Store) in the second half of 2026. A demo is currently available on Steam.
