Daniel Mullins Games announced that it will launch a Steam playtest for *Pony Island 2: Panda Circus* during the “Triple-i Initiative Showcase,” which airs on October 9 at 1:00 a.m., and will offer the previous title, *Pony Island*, as a limited-time free download on Steam.

Will you win or break the game set up by the gods of the underworld?

This adventure game is created by Daniel Mullins, the creator of *Inscryption*.

The game depicts a phantasmagorical journey explored through the lenses of time, mythology, divine power, and video games. Players take on the role of a young wanderer who was once obsessed with world conquest but is sent to hell due to a premature death.

The goal is to escape the underworld’s arrogant gods while keeping your soul and sanity intact. Just like its predecessor, this is not a game about ponies; the latest trailer also shows the protagonist playing a bizarre in-game game.

In the game, you’ll bargain for your soul against the eccentric gods who rule Hell and take on their challenges. Your only allies are a horse, a thumb drive, and your own wits.

Will you win the gods’ games, or destroy the games themselves…? Whether you fulfill your destiny or attempt to transcend it is entirely up to the player.

As mentioned in a previous Game*Spark article, Daniel Mullins stated in a Q&A that this title isn’t simply a sequel and can be enjoyed even by those who haven’t played the first game. However, the worlds are connected, and the game includes little Easter eggs that players of the first game will appreciate.

Play it early through the playtest before release—and get the previous game for free

By signing up for the Steam Playtest, you’ll have the chance to play the game ahead of its April 2027 release and provide feedback to the developers.

Additionally, the previous title, *Pony Island*, is available for a limited time for free on Steam. Released in January 2016, this suspense-puzzle game follows a character trapped inside a glitch-ridden arcade machine created by a demon and has earned an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam.

This title was announced at “The Game Awards 2023” in December 2023, and its release date was confirmed at “gamescom Opening Night Live 2026” in August 2026.

*Pony Island 2: Panda Circus* is scheduled for release on PC (Steam) on April 28, 2027 (Japan Time).

Additionally, the previous title, *Pony Island*, is currently available for free on Steam for a limited time.
