Strange Scaffold announced its new title, *Gods with Badges*, during the “Triple-i Initiative Showcase,” which aired on October 9 at 1:00 a.m.
Turning off the body camera unlocks “special options”
This game is a story-driven tactical game centered on the police. It explores the power structures and institutional incentives within law enforcement through story segments and intense turn-based battles.
Set in a dystopian future city, players take on the role of Harrow McClellan, a disgraced police officer who returns to his former precinct to patrol the streets. While influencing people’s lives, players enforce their own definition of justice.
The game’s most distinctive feature is a mechanic where turning off your body camera unlocks special dialogue and combat options. The press release concludes with the line, “You, too, like your colleagues, are a god with a badge,” hinting at the irony embedded in the title.
Returning to her old precinct after 20 years, she finds she’s become a legend
According to the trailer, Harrow is a figure who was forced off the public stage following a violent incident 20 years ago. Upon returning to her old precinct, she discovers that she has become a “legend” among her fellow officers. From there on, every choice she makes will be a decision about whether to confront or embrace that reputation.
From the red-light district to the impoverished inner city, it’s up to the player to define what it means to enforce the law.Who should be protected, who should be punished, and how far can you go without being held accountable? All of that is left in the player’s hands, and the trailer closes with the words, “God, save us.”
After the “reincarnation in another world” genre comes the police genre
Strange Scaffold, the developer and publisher, is the studio known for titles such as *I Am Your Beast* and *Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator*.
In July 2026, they released *Truck-kun is Supporting Me from Another World?!*, a game where you run over townspeople with a truck to reincarnate them into another world. Game*Spark conducted a developer interview with studio head and director Xalavier Nelson Jr.
*Gods with Badges* is scheduled for release on PC (Steam).
