New Division XP

Matthew Ball, XBOX’s Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), announced today, October 8, on XBOX Wire that XP has been established as a new division of XBOX. It was also revealed that Kayleen Walters, former head of Mojang, will lead the division as President.
XP aims to expand the franchise into a wide range of fields with games at its core, and with its establishment, the following four investment areas have been officially determined:
XBOX PICTURES: We will bring our worlds and characters to new audiences through movies, television, and other forms of linear storytelling.
XBOX PRODUCTS: We will develop products that are true to our fan base, allowing fans to celebrate and express their love for the franchises they cherish.
XBOX PLACES: We’ll bring communities together through live events, immersive experiences, attractions, broadcasts, and tourist destinations.
XBOX PARTNERSHIPS: We collaborate with creators, brands, and communities to develop new experiences, sponsorships, and brand partnerships.
Transforming Games into Experiences That Go Beyond Gaming
Arsha Sharma, CEO of Xbox, also commented on this announcement on X. She explained that this division is dedicated to “helping great games evolve into experiences that go beyond just gaming.”
Her message to employees was also published on XBOX Wire, where she revealed that the name “XP” is derived from “Experience Points.”
