On October 7, One or Eight released a demo version of the pixel-art tower defense game *Pixel Heroes Scramble Plus* for PC (Steam).

This game is a fixed-route tower defense title where players aim to secure the battlefield by deploying a diverse cast of units across the map.
The game features over 60 different unit types, each with unique abilities—from units that excel at slowing enemies down to those that inflict status effects, and support-specialized units that aid allies. The key to victory lies in carefully assessing the battle situation and strategically positioning and combining your units.
Not only do massive waves of enemies surge toward you in each stage, but certain stages also feature colossal bosses with overwhelming power. Everything—from units and enemy characters to stage backgrounds—is rendered in meticulously detailed pixel art, and the game’s classic yet charming graphics are a major draw.
To help turn the tide of battle, the game features “EX Skills”—limited-use trump cards that can completely change the course of the battle, such as area-of-effect attacks from meteorites or deploying barriers. Additionally, one-time-use support items are available to save you in a pinch, making the game accessible even for Tower Defense beginners.
The game takes place in a variety of settings, including city streets, lush grasslands, and vast deserts. You can choose from three difficulty levels: “Normal,” “Hard,” and the exceptionally challenging “Challenge,” which imposes special restrictions.

The developer, One or Eight, is a Japanese studio known for titles such as the 2D action RPG *LOST EPIC* and the 2D action game *EARTH WARS*.The studio is also currently developing *“LOL, the Demon King’s Castle Is Right Next Door to My House lol”*, with an Early Access version for PC (Steam) set to launch on November 13.
