International journalist Stephen Totilo has reported on remarks made by Ubisoft (hereinafter “Ubisoft”) CEO Yves Guillemot regarding *Watch Dogs*.
Is *Watch Dogs* on Hold?
Regarding *Watch Dogs*, rumors spread in January 2026 that Ubisoft had abandoned the IP, sparking debate overseas and leaving the situation uncertain.Even in official documents released in March 2026 following a large-scale reorganization that restructured studios into “Creative Houses 1–5” specialized in specific genres or IPs, the department responsible for *Watch Dogs* was not listed.
In this report, Stephen Totilo covered Yves Guillou’s response to an investor’s question asking, “Why isn’t ‘Watch Dogs’ listed on the organizational chart?” Guillou reportedly replied, “We do not plan to add it to the Creative House at this time, until there is a possibility of remaking it in the future.”
Stephen Totilo added that this statement was interpreted from French to English on the spot. He also noted that the remark did not suggest a remake was in the works, but rather seemed to convey that “we are not currently working on *Watch Dogs* and do not intend to prioritize it at this time.”
While it may not have been completely abandoned, the *Watch Dogs* series appears to be on hold, at the very least. Will we ever see a new installment in the series?
