On October 2, 2026, Alice Soft began distributing the territory-conquest simulation game *Sengoku Lance* on Steam. The unpatched, all-ages version of the Steam release has drawn attention because the protagonist, Lance, has become a “kissing fiend.”

*Sengoku Lance* is the seventh installment in the Lance series, released in 2006. In this game, the brash and reckless Lance sets out to conquer territories in “JAPAN,” a setting closely resembling Japan.
While the original was an adult-oriented game, this Steam version is classified as all-ages, so there was significant interest in how sexual content would be handled… In this version, the text was revised so that “kissing” replaces sexual depictions.
As a result of this change, Lance—who used to make a pass at every woman he could get his hands on—has become a “kissing fiend.” Perhaps because this has given him a stronger impression of being a dangerous character in a different way than usual, searching for “Lance Kiss” or “"rance kiss"” on X yields a huge number of reactions.
