DANGEN Entertainment and Game Source Entertainment have released Update 4—the largest update to date—for the sexy defense shooter *Turrets and Girls*, developed by NANAIRO ENTERPRISE.
“Mami,” the new character announced for the game’s first anniversary, joins the fray! “The most voluptuous and alluring new member.”
In this game, you control a girl riding a turret to defend your base against alien creatures invading through wormholes.
Update 4 is the largest update in the game’s history, featuring new characters, new drones, a new generator, and a multiplayer mode.Game*Spark previously reported in August 2026 that the back view of the new character for the upcoming update was first revealed in a Steam news post commemorating the game’s first anniversary, and now her full appearance has been unveiled.
The new character, “Mami,” is described by the developers as “the most voluptuous and charming new member.” Although she has a slightly airheaded personality that often leads her to miss the mark, she is said to possess some of the most powerful abilities in the game.
Her special skill is the custom drone “B.O.I.N 55,” which follows her around. Affectionately nicknamed “B.O.I.N-kun” by Mami—who dotes on it like her own child—this drone switches between two operating modes.
In the basic “Attack Mode,” it automatically attacks groups of enemies with missiles that pack immense power, though reloading is somewhat slow. In “Enhancement Mode,” it can be tasked with upgrading generators; while it cannot attack during this time, it significantly boosts the stats of the upgraded generator for the entire wave (run).
Furthermore, Mami—a technology specialist—has the advantage of being able to equip up to three drones simultaneously, in addition to the B.O.I.N. 55.

This update also adds three new combat drones that all characters can equip. Note that Mami is the only character who can equip multiple drones simultaneously; all other characters are limited to one.

Suppression Drone: Fires multiple lasers at enemies
in the rear to deter and suppress their movements.Guard Drone: Remains by the
player’s side and fires a shotgun at melee enemies targeting the player.Stun Drone:
Drops large stun bombs onto groups of enemies. While it does not deal damage, it completely stops enemies from moving or attacking for a set period of time.
Three new types of generators have also been introduced to expand gameplay options.

Fires ground-to-ground missiles with a wide area of effect and immense destructive power.Decoy Drone: Attracts enemies’ attention with a holographic
projection. When destroyed, it generates a gravity well and triggers a massive explosion!Surge Tether:
Significantly boosts the attack power and reload speed of nearby characters. The effect applies to multiple characters, and the effects of multiple Surge Tethers can be stacked!
Multiplayer supports up to 3 players in co-op, and you can also go on missions solo with bots
Although still in alpha, the long-awaited multiplayer mode supports co-op play for up to three players.
You can invite Steam friends or join private lobbies using room codes, as well as join public lobbies via the lobby search menu or create your own public lobby to invite other players.
If you don’t have enough players, or if you want to try out multiplayer stages solo, you can also take bots with you on your missions.
As of Update 4, all standard stages from Crisis Levels 1 through 4 support co-op play. Upon clearing a stage for the first time, you’ll receive resource rewards as well as emotes usable in online play; there are a total of 16 emotes available across all stages and Crisis Levels.
Since the introduction of online features may cause unexpected bugs, the multiplayer mode was released as an “alpha version.” The developers plan to enhance and expand it through patches and additional content leading up to Update 5, and they will be closely monitoring feedback and bug reports posted on the Steam forums and Discord.
According to an announcement in August, Update 5 is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026 and is expected to include additional multiplayer content, end-game content, and an ending.
Additionally, due to the game’s alpha status, the implementation of multiplayer in builds for other platforms—such as GOG.com and itch.io—has been postponed. The developers are prioritizing the Steam version to refine the multiplayer experience and quality; Mami and other update features are scheduled to be rolled out to other platforms sequentially.
