NC (formerly NCSoft), known primarily for the development and operation of online games, has launched early access to its latest free-to-play MMORPG, "AION 2," and released a promotional trailer.
Early Access Begins Five Days Before Official Launch
Early access to the game—which is scheduled to officially launch on October 5, 2026, Japan Standard Time—began at 11:00 p.m. on September 30 on Steam and NC’s own platform, Purple.
Players can participate in this early access by purchasing one of the following “Founder’s Packs,” which are already on sale and include a set of convenience items.

Regarding Service Model and This Global Version
The service model for *AION 2* is a free-to-play system with an optional monthly membership
Additionally, cosmetic items, Battle Passes, and the right to participate in player-driven economic activities will be paid features
You can play alone or with friends
There are no differences in game content between the Steam and Purple versions.
The Global Edition is launching now; character data from the Taiwanese or Korean versions cannot be transferred
You can play using just your Steam account, but linking it to a Purple account allows you to share characters and progress data
The Global Edition supports Japanese for both subtitles and audio. These can be changed via the settings menu
The global version’s servers are located in North America, South America, Europe, and Japan
The Global Edition is available on both Steam and Purple. The servers are the same
Although not officially supported, you can play with a controller.
At this time, there is no support for Steam Deck or Linux via Steam.
