Konami Arcade Games announced that it will host a commemorative live stream today, September 28, to celebrate the 28th anniversary of “pop’n music,” part of the “BEMANI” series.
An exhibition is also currently underway to celebrate “pop’n”’s 28th year.
Released as the second title in Konami’s BEMANI series—following “beatmania”—this is a rhythm game where players press nine buttons in time with the music. The first title was released in arcades in 1998, and with the planned release of a new cabinet at the end of 2025, the series marks its 28th anniversary today, September 28.

To commemorate this occasion, a special “pop’n music” broadcast will be held on the web stream “BEMANI Live Broadcast (tentative title),” which usually features the latest “BEMANI” news.
Featuring Des-ROW, the producer of *pop’n music High☆Cheers!!*—currently in arcades—along with director wac, and composers Yuei and PON, who have worked on many *BEMANI* titles, the show will feature them sharing their memories of the series. The stream begins today, September 28, at 8:00 PM.

Additionally, the “pop'n music exhibition” exhibition—which showcases everything from the past to the present of *pop’n music*—is currently being held in Shibuya. The exhibition runs through October 4, so be sure to check it out soon if you’re interested. It is also scheduled to open in Kyoto on October 30.

The latest installment in the series, *pop'n music High☆Cheers!!*, is currently available at arcades nationwide. Additionally, the home version, *pop'n music Lively*, is now available for PC.
