Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that it will discontinue the current online services for the PvPvE extraction shooter *SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada* starting in May 2027. The company has also decided to develop and transition to an offline version.
Online PvPvE to End; Offline Version to Become a PvE Extraction Shooter
*SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada* is an extraction shooter in which players take on the role of “Drifters” and, alongside their AI partner “Magus,” board the mech “Cradle Coffin” to explore a dangerous surface world.
It will be released on January 23, 2025, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and on January 24 for PC (Steam). The current version features not only PvE combat against the monstrous “Enders” but also a PvPvE format where battles with other players occur.
According to this announcement, the current online service is scheduled to end in May 2027 or later. Additionally, updates and events will cease after those scheduled for October 2026.
However, this does not mean the game itself will become unplayable after service ends.
A standalone offline version—excluding certain features that require online connectivity—will be developed for users who currently own the game.
Some save data from the online version, as well as eligible purchased items, are scheduled to be transferred to the offline version. Specific details regarding the transition timeline and data transfer methods will be announced at a later date.
The development and operations team explains that while the “PvPvE” format offered through the online service will end, the adventure in the world of *SYNDUALITY* will continue as an “offline PvE extraction shooter.”
Sales of “SYN COINS” will end on December 18
The schedule leading up to the end of online service has also been released. Sales of the in-game premium currency “SYN COINS” and other items will end at 12:00 a.m. on December 18, 2026. Premium currency already purchased can be used until the end of online service.
However, please note that in-game currency has an expiration period of 150 days from the first launch after purchase.
Additionally, the “data transfer feature” for migrating data to the offline version is scheduled for release in December 2026. The specific end date for online services will be announced in March 2027, and the termination of online services and the transition to the offline version are scheduled to begin in May 2027 or later.
