On September 23, 2026, Netflix released a preview clip from the anime series “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2,” which it is streaming exclusively.
The anime adaptation of “Cyberpunk,” set in Night City, returns
This anime series is based on the video game *Cyberpunk 2077*. The anime *Cyberpunk: Edgerunners*, which was produced exclusively for Netflix in 2022, served as the first installment, and this new series is its sequel.
Like the game, the story is set in “Night City.” As with the previous series, the production team consists of a collaboration between CD Projekt RED—the developer of “Cyberpunk 2077”—and the animation studio TRIGGER, and the story of Night City will be brought to life once again.
The newly released footage focuses on Week, a legendary Edgerunner once known as “The King.” As one of the series’ main characters, the various people and events surrounding him will once again inspire him to rise to the challenge as an Edgerunner.
Let’s look forward to seeing what kind of story awaits us.
The anime series “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2” is set to stream exclusively on Netflix starting October 20.
