The “Tokyo Game Show (TGS),” a major exhibition held annually at Makuhari Messe in Chiba that brings together video game-related companies from Japan and abroad, kicked off its 2026 public days on September 19.
The Tokyo Game Show is divided into “Business Days,” which are open only to video game companies, influencers, and members of the press, and “Public Days,” which are bustling with general attendees. In 2026, coinciding with the Silver Week holiday period, the event will be held for five days for the first time, with three of those days designated as Public Days.
According to the Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association (CESA), the organizer, “Tokyo Game Show 2026” saw a record 1,138 exhibitors, and the Business Days were a huge success, with over 52,000 visitors on both the first and second days. A total of 300,000 visitors are expected over the entire event.

On the first day of the 2026 public sessions, the sky was cloudy, but many game fans could be seen in front of the venue and inside immediately after the doors opened.

The “Tokyo Game Show 2026” public days are scheduled to take place from September 19 to 21. Please note that advance ticket purchase is required for admission.
