Entergram has released a demo version of *VIRTUAL ENCORE* for PC (Steam).
Unravel the truth behind the "person behind the mask’s" death over six repeating days
This game is a time-loop mystery adventure game set in a VTuber agency.
Players take on the role of Wakaba Kusunoki, the manager of the VTuber agency “Production Echoes,” and support her talent, Erika Tsukimiya, over the six days leading up to her first solo live stream.However, just before the live stream, Mirei Kisaragi—the “person behind the VTuber”—loses her life, and Wakaba is sent back to the morning six days before the live stream. With each loop, you select locations from the map to visit, witnessing scenes that were not visible in the previous loop, and gradually get closer to the truth behind Mirei’s death.
For both Tsukimiya Erika/Kisaragi Mirei (voiced by Shiori Yoshimura) and Himuki Kirara/Shirase Kō (voiced by Nagisa Higami), a single voice actress portrays both the “on-air” VTuber persona and the “off-air” true identity.
The demo released this time covers approximately two hours, from the morning six days before the live stream until the moment the loop begins. Additionally, an opening movie featuring the theme song “Aftersounds” has been released.
Pre-orders for the Switch version are now open, and a stage event is planned for TGS 2026
Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch physical edition are now being accepted at game retailers nationwide. The strictly limited edition is scheduled to include a 4-layer acrylic panel, an acrylic keychain featuring the theme song with an NFC tag, and photo cards (original + newly illustrated) (specifications and design are currently in development).
Store-exclusive bonuses are available at Animate, Sofmap, and other retailers; details can be found on the official website. The pre-order start date for the Switch digital download version will be announced at a later date.
The game will also be featured at the Tokyo Game Show 2026, held at Makuhari Messe from September 17 to 21. At the Entergram booth (03-N05) in Hall 3, visitors who show their Steam wishlist entry for the game will receive a special sticker (one per person, while supplies last).
Starting at 12:00 PM on September 21, a stage event titled “‘VIRTUAL ENCORE’ × ‘ARIABLUE’ ~Two Stories Performed by Yuka Hiiragi~ (tentative title)” will be held, featuring Yuka Hiiragi, the voice actress for Honoka Koyanagi.Mizu Momo will serve as the MC, and in addition to live dialogue performances and a talk segment, the event will feature the latest updates on both titles.
“VIRTUAL ENCORE” is scheduled for release in January 2027 for PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. The Steam version and the Switch digital download version are priced at 3,960 yen, while the Switch physical edition is priced at 4,400 yen for the standard edition and 9,900 yen for the strictly limited edition.
