"UN:Me," an adventure game gaining attention for its unconventional concept—in which players interact with four souls inhabiting a young girl’s body—has been postponed to 2027. The use of motion capture will further enhance the experience—with Yumiri Hanamori voicing the protagonist.
Shueisha Games has announced that the release date for the adventure game "UN:Me" has been postponed from 2026 to 2027.
A Quirky Adventure Game Where You “Converse” with Four Souls
Set in a world that is both beautiful and eerie, this “soul triage” adventure follows a young girl as she “converses” with the four souls residing within her. While fleeing from the trauma that threatens her, she searches for the “true owner of the body.” The souls, who have lost their memories, each claim to be the “real one,” but there can only be one true soul.It is up to the player to decide which soul to keep and which to “erase.”
Set within a labyrinth of the mind, the game features a “school” that resembles a middle or high school. It combines the breathless atmosphere unique to adolescence with an eerie sense of unease, and seems to be inhabited by silent residents with colorful flowers blooming from their heads.
A girl with four souls inhabiting a single body changes her tone and demeanor each time a soul shifts. Details regarding Soul II and Soul IV—the two remaining souls—have now been revealed.
■ Soul II
Personality Traits: More outgoing than the other souls; responds relatively positively to questions
Her tone is casual, and she comes across as somewhat carefree.
She often smiles, but her true intentions are hard to read
■ Soul IV
Personality Traits : Aggressive; often gets worked up in response to what you say
Speech: Uses extremely harsh language
Facial Expression: Often glares at you; it’s clear she doesn’t trust you
This title is being planned and developed by Historia, known for titles such as *Caligula 2* and *Live A Live*, with planning and scenario by Takuya Yamanaka, known for the *Caligula* series. It will be published by Shueisha Games.
It has been announced that the game’s release has been postponed to 2027. The reason given for the delay is to allow players to sense the distinct personalities of the four souls residing within the girl—through subtle movements and changes in facial expressions during dialogue—and to foster a deeper emotional connection. The aim is to further enhance the experience that the game prioritizes through the use of motion capture and other techniques.
In conjunction with the delay, a video offering a glimpse into the development process was released. It features footage of actors performing while wearing motion capture suits, as well as production work taking place in the studio.
Yumiri Hanamori Cast as the Protagonist
Yumiri Hanamori has been cast as the protagonist—a girl with four souls inhabiting a single body. Rather than distinguishing the characters by changing her voice, she reportedly focused on respecting each soul’s individuality and carefully portraying them as a single voice emanating from one body.
Hanamori, a native of Kanagawa Prefecture, made her voice acting debut in 2013 as Sota Amaya in the anime “Aiura.”She is known for roles such as Nadeshiko Kagamihara in “Yuru Camp△,” Asaemon Sakiri in “Jigokuraku,” Riyou in “Gachi Act,” and Asako Yamagishi in “The Summer the Light Died.”
To celebrate the announcement of her voice acting role, the “A Voice for You” campaign is currently underway, offering five lucky winners the chance to win a signed color paper by Hanamori. To participate, follow the official “UN:Me” account (@UNMe_JP) and repost the designated post. The campaign runs until 11:59 PM on September 30.
A demo version of *UN:Me*, where you can hear Hanamori’s voice, will be available to play at the Shueisha Games booth (05-C10) at the “Tokyo Game Show 2026.” A video message from Hanamori will also be screened at the venue.
*UN:Me* is scheduled for release in 2027 on PC (Steam),PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The price has not yet been determined.
