AttritoM7 Productions announced that the release date for “BLACKWOOD,” a John Wick-style cinematic action-thriller game, has been set for September 16 (local time).

The Double Life of a Store Manager and an Assassin
Set in New York City in 2012, the game follows a character who leads an ordinary life by day as the seemingly unremarkable manager of a DVD store, but by night, steps into the city’s underworld as a ruthless “contract killer,” fighting to survive in a violent city full of secrets.
The gameplay features a myriad of takedowns that are executed based on the situation during combat, as well as cinematic storytelling.
*BLACKWOOD* is scheduled for release on Steam for PC.The game is structured as a three-part episodic series; Act 1 will be released first, followed by Act 2 in March 2027 and Act 3 in September 2027. Purchasing the game once grants access to all Acts, though the price is set to increase with each new Act release.

Each Act also includes multiple side missions and additional content, providing plenty to enjoy beyond the main story. Furthermore, each Act features a self-contained narrative within the game’s overarching story, designed to stand on its own while progressing the main story.

Even between the releases of major Acts, new side missions and smaller pieces of content may be added via patches. As the game expands, each Act will reportedly gain collectibles, achievements, takedowns, weapons, enemy variations, and other relevant side content.

Finally, AttritoM7 Productions emphasized that *BLACKWOOD* is not an unfinished Early Access game, and that Act 1 is a complete part of the overall game. They explained that releasing the game in episodes allows players to experience the game sooner while also giving the development team the time needed to produce the remaining Acts.
