505 Games unveiled the latest gameplay trailer for the gothic horror action RPG *Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement* during the “Xbox Game Show 2026” broadcast on September 17, 2026.
The Latest Entry in the *Bloodstained* Series, Which Chronicles the Origins of the Franchise—New Gameplay Footage Released Immediately Following the Announcement of a Release Delay
This title is the latest entry in the *Bloodstained* series, developed by Koji Igarashi (IGA)—known for his work on the exploration-based *Castlevania* games, which helped give rise to the “Metroidvania” genre.Set in 16th-century England, the young warrior “Leonardo” of the Black Wolves and “Alexander,” a survivor of the White Stags, set out to defeat the “Demon King Elias” in order to cut through the darkness of the cursed land.
The game unfolds on the largest map in the series’ history, featuring a day-and-night cycle, and implements a “Buddy System” where the two characters cooperate on their adventure, as well as “Flash Techniques” acquired through combat and events. As in previous titles, elements such as crafting and cooking are also included.
Although a delay in the game’s release from 2026 to 2027 was announced recently, a new gameplay trailer—as previously teased—has now been released. The video showcases buddy combat, a variety of boss enemies, and the ability to manually switch between day and night.
*Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement* is scheduled for release in 2027 on PC (Steam/ Epic Games Store),PS5, andXbox Series X|S.
