On September 18, Fictions released patch v1.0.12 for the ARPG *Beast of Reincarnation*, developed by Game Freak.
A “Mixed-Reviews” Title That Continues to Improve
This title is a new ARPG from Game Freak—known for the *Pokémon* series—and features battles that blend real-time action with turn-based RPG mechanics. Set in a future Japan more than a thousand years after the world’s collapse, the game follows the journey of the protagonist, Emma, and her Corrosion Dog, Kuu.
Since its release, user reviews on Steam have been “mixed,” and improvements via patches are ongoing.
In this v1.0.12 update, nearly all events and cutscenes can now be skipped. A “Skip” option has been added to skippable events, and finish animations can also be skipped.
Additionally, tips will no longer be displayed starting from the second playthrough, and DLSS/frame generation settings have been improved for PC. Furthermore, “Switch Ammo Slots 1–3” has been added to the button settings, allowing players to assign ammo switching to a different button.
Additionally, future updates are scheduled to include a mode with a higher difficulty level than “HARD” and a high-difficulty mode for “NEW GAME+,” as well as the addition of an “auto-pickup of enemy drop items” feature, which is expected to improve quality of life. Furthermore, the developers are considering adding an option to proceed without having to clear all three zones at once. This feature would be useful for players who want to focus on the story or progress through the game more quickly.

Fixed an issue where Emma’s dialogue would sometimes not appear when the audio was set to English.
Fixed an issue where being trapped would not be resolved if the player died at the same time as defeating an enemy in certain event battles.
Fixed an issue where progress in event battles and boss battles in certain areas would become blocked.
Fixed an issue where exploration markers were not displayed correctly if you progressed through the game on the disc version without applying the update.
The following adjustments are planned for future updates. The developers have stated that they will provide updates on progress as the situation warrants.
We are currently exploring the possibility of allowing players to choose whether to proceed past the Pilgrimage Area, Matsukawa Colony Area, and Fuji Frontline Area—the three zones following the mid-game “Terraced Fields Before the Giant Wall” area—all at once or to clear them in the traditional order. This will allow players to choose whether to focus on the story and reach the capital more quickly, or to progress through the game more swiftly during repeat playthroughs. Additionally, for the existing areas, we plan to make adjustments—such as revamping the attack patterns of bosses in the same category—to ensure an even more enjoyable experience. We will provide further updates as soon as the details are finalized.
